The line up is with Gary Husband [stuff deleted] I'm sorry for my ignorance... Is this CD the latest album out after 'Forever Now'? I own every single CD that are obtainable in Japan but never heard of this album. Does anyone know if it is internationally released? --- kazz @ osk.threewebnet.or.jp ------------------------------ Subject: Bad reviews, FN, etc. From: pfpd @ pobox.com (Pat Flanagan) Date: Sat, 8 Jun 1996 11:45:22 -0400 (EDT) >Anyone who sees anti-L42 propaganda, inform the digest, and we'll >move into action. The Chant has begun. Wow, guys, cool down. Every band gets slagged from time to time, some more than others, but it's just opinions. I've never let a bad review of Level 42 rattle me. It just confirms that I have more musical taste than the reviewer, and that makes me a better person. It's like all of you who love The Chinese Way shouldn't get your underwear in a bunch when I say it's a pathetically boobish song with TWEE lyrics. :D >3) Does anyone know who that is singing the bridge in the song titled "The >Bends"? I know some people will violently disagree with me, but it's Mark singing falsetto. >5) My favorite songs off the cd are: (in order) - "Forever Now" - "Love In A >Peaceful World" - and "One In A Million". "Forever Now" grooves!!! YES. Except for One In A Million. IMHO, they could have left that off the Resurgence version and kept Tired Of Waiting, which is a better song. While we're on the subject of the Resurgence FN, one of the local CD stores FINALLY got it in (and it wasn't even a special order, it was just sitting on the shelf! This is the same store that had Guaranteed in stock on its US release date -- don't get too excited, though, as they also have a big Gwar poster as the highlight of their decorating.). I'll be picking it up as a personal reward to myself once I finish the project I'm currently working on. My question to anyone who's seen it... What were Mark and Mike smoking before they posed for the back cover? Mike's upside down, which I can deal with, but Mark looks like he just took a good right cross to the gut. Also noticed a sticker on the plastic wrap covering Resurgence's UPC symbol. It says "Distributed by Griffin", which should clear up any confusion as to whether or not Griffin will be releasing a different version with a different track list. Finally, it was suggested by someone in a past digest that I revive the Bad Song Lyric of the Day. Unfortunately, I've hit all the bad song lyrics that are worth repeating, so I'll now be doing a Cool Song Lyric from time to time. Witness: Cool Song Lyric: "Dinner's in the microwave, sweetie" from "Leipzig" by Thomas Dolby. I have it on order from Anthem Entertainment and they said as of yest. that it was still on hold by the record company??? Any comments... Not really, this is just the "US Version" (which was released in the UK as well, just to confuse things). From: Roxanne Moore Date: Sat, 08 Jun 1996 12:31:56 -0600 Yo. I grew up in Los Angeles County California, where REAL rap music ABOUNDS, and I've had the "undoo delight" of having to ENDURE several boom- de- de- bang-pa-pa-phhhhmmmp-! overly bassed ballads in my time................I have to say to those who are "attempting" to call anything of Level 42's rap music are really missing a few beats ( several actually ). If Level 42 uses rap, then I think I detect a hint of disco in Wolgang Amadeus Mozart's music as well! Maybe all of you who enjoy slicing Level 42 apart so much until they are no longer what they are should join the infamous Q staff............. Just wondering what sides were on sometimes ~ REALfn ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Level42 Digest V96 #160 From: Axl Date: Sat, 08 Jun 1996 22:38:23 -0400 Why does the CD " forever now" I just ordered have a pic of Mark And Mike on the front standing near the old world fair ball???????
