Also, ardent fans will remember that these >lyrics were printed in the fan club newsletter shortly after the song's >release. The lyrics sheet included with this disc makes at least one error >- the line "Big "T" don't care..." is written simply as "big don't care." The rest matches the lyrics printed in the songbook. /Lars-Ove Lars-Ove Karlsson at home. ** e-mail: love.karlsson @ mailbox.swipnet.se ** e-mail at work: love @ iar.se ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Level42 Digest V96 #140 From: JAKEHAWK @ nwu.edu (Jonathan Jacobson) Date: Sun, 19 May 1996 07:19:04 -0600 Stonker, If you are serious, I wrote a semi-interesting paper using "Standing In The Light" lyrics. It was for philosophy and it was before I have the European cut (the American version cuts some lyrics) Best regards Jake ---------------- "It takes a lot of guts to shake the tree" Jonathan Jacobson Northwestern University Masters of Integrated Marketing Communications candidate '96 JAKEHAWK @ nwu.edu ------------------------------ Subject: Screamingly obvious From: ben @ flump.netkonect.co.uk (Benedict Poole) Date: Sun, 19 May 1996 17:21:18 +0000 The first thing that struck me about She Can't Help Herself, is that the song is about an orphan kid who is then abused by a close faimly member - ie, someone already vulnerable who has put their trust in the only people they have. This impression has remained - I think it's bloody obvious actually! BTW, what's an awfun? And yes, its platitudes are fairly crappy. But there you go. TTFN! One example is the lyrics that were just posted for Take Care of Yourself. >Millstones swing, "grind your thing," pay the tax and alimony, >TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. I thought all this time he was singing " Please don't swing 'round your thing, pay the tax and alimony" Anyone else think that besides me? also the following: >1-9-9-0 here we go, may the next ten break the mould >TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. I thought he sang "Hey, now, now, no here we go, breed the next and break the mould" It may just be the fact that I pay much more attention to the music rather than the lyrics that my mind hears what it wants. If that's the case then I've got a terrible case of sex on the brain. By the way, for all audiences concerned...the word "mould" is pronounced "mould" which is totally different than "mold" which as you know is pronounced "mold". I hope I cleared up any phonetics concerning such words. In regard to Lolita's comments on "Heart on the Line" I agree whole heartedly. (No pun intended) That was one of the songs that I felt Mark sang with alot of true feeling like Billy's Gone and Romance. Lisa, your copy of Fait is on it's way!! It's been my pleasure... - Jerry Rehn ------------------------------ Subject: Extra Track On Lindup C.D?
