When I first got Staring..I was blown away by this song. It has so much energy! If I was to keep count, this song would be the winner for the most "airplay" given a song within the first week of purchase. I also thought that it would make an awesome live song and I was soooo pissed when at the beginning of the Fait Accompli video they cut it off!. It wasn't until I got a copy of Guaranteed Live that I was able to finally see it. I was actually a bit disappointed. Mostly because Mark, amazingly enough, sang a bit off key on the chorus. "..I'll run across this land......Trying to understand.." I went back and listened to the "studio" version and he sings it the same way although less pronounced, so I never noticed it. The overall mix was different in concert too so it lost some of its punch I think. It deffinantly is still one of my all time favorites. I really couldn't pick "the best" L42 song ever. Too hard. >This break was again played by Mark King in the solo that precedes >"Love Games" on the Physical Presence album. >-Greg Vermette I'm sorry, but Angel, Pat and I already beat you to it on this one. : P Take Care, Rolf ------------------------------ Subject: Pat's Mistake : ) From: LittleHalo @ aol.com Date: Sun, 14 Jan 1996 17:04:47 -0500 In a message dated 96-01-13 06:00:56 EST, Pat wrote: >>(Bad Lyric - "I'm brave...but I'm chickensh*t" - "Hand in Pocket" - Alanis >>Morrisette) >Sorry, Greg, you've picked another song that I've already used Sorry, Pat, in another digest awhile back I used this song as a bad lyric and I asked you if you had already used it. You replied to the digest by saying something about that you thought it wasn't too bad of a lyric but her alternachick yodeling is what makes the song a bit bad. *buzz* - Sorry, try again! Although I won't deny that you are the master since you did originate the bad song lyric of the day. :-) No really, this is my last post today, Angel ------------------------------ Subject: Jap. Does anyone know FOR SURE what the difference is between the regular and Japanese Pursuit? Takeo? Anyone? About "Jung" on Mike's album, Pat, how did you know this? Was it on the original 'Changes' album? Was 'Changes' originally released on RCA? Is the title a reference to the psychologist? Also, Pat (or anyone who knows), I've been wondering where you found the song, "Freedom" that you put on one of my tapes. I heard something about the Thunderthumbs and Toetsenmann or something but I want to know where, when, and on what it was originally released. So, could anyone tell me? Nay. My vote would have to be for World Machine. Or, would it be Good Man in a Storm? Or Something About You? Overtime? Man? Children Say? My Resurgence Forever Now hasn't arrived yet, so I can't say anything about the songs on that album. (It shipped on the 11th, though! Yeah!) (Side note--those of you that are waiting for CDNow to ship your FN + 4 extra tracks: I ordered mine on the 31st of December, and, according to the account info page, they shipped it out on the 11th. Hopefully your CD will be shipped soon as well!) Well, my vote would have to be for all of 'em! I like them all, it would be extremely difficult for me to pick a single favorite. I have a feeling that your nomination will be debated in future digests. >Subject: Re: Level42 Digest V96 #10 >From: "smashie @ dircon.co.uk" >Date: Sat, 13 Jan 1996 02:13:11 +0000 > > Richard Smith writes >> 2. I guess this makes me eccentric! =) I just wanted to say that I like your taste in music. I'm glad that there's somebody else out there with my same tastes. I try to get my wife to listen to Spyro Gyra with me, but it's usually impossible. She says it gives her a headache after about 30 minutes. Her country music does the same to me. =) Well gotta run! This is the stock "Running In The Family" LP with a bonus disc of remixes: 7:44 Lessons In Love (shep pettibone remix) 6:37 Running In The Family (dave 'o' remix) 6:00 It's Over (remix) 8:03 Something About You (shep pettibone remix) 5:39 World Machine (shep pettibone remix) 2) The Platinum Edition on cassette and CD. This is a special pressing of the CD that uses the above remixes to replace the regular album versions where appropriate, and adds the "Something About You" and "World Machine" mixes at the end. ("Freedom Someday" ends up after "It's Over" for some reason too.) 3) The Family Edition. This is a Canada-only (as far as I know) LP/CS with the following tracks: 7:44 Lessons In Love (shep pettibone remix) 6:37 Running In The Family (dave 'o' remix) 6:00 It's Over (extended remix) 10:45 The Platinum Edition Megamix 6:20 Freedom Someday 4:45 It's Over (instrumental) -- ::: Lazlo (lazlo @ swcp.com; http://www.swcp.com/lazlo) ------------------------------ Subject: Surprise...
