On The Sun Goes Down, live on the Physical Presence, does Mark sing " I'm gonna f*ck her till the sun goes down " I'm sure he does. It certainly isn't " we'll be together " 2. From what I've heard, the Live at Wembley album has been delayed again, ( source Croydon HMV ) until May 6th ( 7th probably cos 6th is UK bank holiday ) 3. Were L42 really going to open the Freddie Mercury tribute? I didn't realise until I read the Biog. that they actually supported Queen. That would have been one hell of a gig to go to. They might have looked a bit out of place at the Freddie tribute though, alongside Metallica, Guns n' Roses etc.(and Spinal Tap!) Still ,it would have been good if they had. Now we'll never know. 4. Wembley Arena holds 9,000, the Stadium 72,000. ( I think ) The most they played was 8 nights at the arena, ie 72,000 people altogether. Therefore theoretically they could have done 1 night at the Stadium, but they did those shows in deepest winter if I recall, so indoors would have been better, and at the Stadium the sound would have been piss-poor. Note Mark's anti-arena comments on Fait Accompli, I hardly think he would have wanted to play even bigger places. L42 music is hardly big, dumb Bon Jovi stadium music. 5. Is this Pier program going to be on in London at all? I bloody hope so. Bye for now. Tattoo Man ------------------------------ Subject: Converting Mark King..........(Interview) From: rlmoore @ students.wisc.edu (rl moore) Date: Thu, 2 May 1996 08:55:07 +1000 I just wanted to throw in my two cents worth to whomever might have the Mark King interview we're all anxious to see. I happen to work for a video duplication service and we have a foreign conversion VCR. If whomever might have this tape, and it would need to be converted to NTSC, for all of us in the U.S. (and abroad) to enjoy, please E-mail me so that we might be able to work something out. If you sent me the tape I could convert it for everyone who wants a copy. If this sounds like a possable plan, please let me know. -ROYAL ------------------------------ Subject: The Pier (more...) It's difficult to say, of course - what he played could have been totally non-representative. But it sounded good anyway. I will write to Meridian TV and see what they say about providing video copies of the program. I realise it's a bit frustrating me and other talking about a Level 42 appearance that hardly anyone was lucky enough to see. I'm slightly confused about this ;@) Are u just doing this as a way to save money? Boston folks - I went to the Earth Day concert last saturday as well as record shopping. I saw a Leisure Process 45 at Planet Recs. Also saw 2 different L42 'Love in a Peaceful World' RCA CD singles (with 3 other songs on them, at a new place called Vibes near BU. I didn't buy it 'cause they wanted $12. ------------------------------ Subject: From: ptoyer @ VNET.IBM.COM Date: Thu, 2 May 96 17:44:35 FST Hi, Can someone tell me which basses Mark King uses now. THE REAL MAC TOY. ------------------------------ Subject: just general chat From: laurence green Date: Fri, 3 May 1996 08:35:22 PDT Hello friends, I'll tell you what. Im well confused about this B-side CD. I dont know what on earth is going on. Maybe Im just stupid. My exams finish on May 21st and start on 9th. When they have finished I am writing to Polydor to ask them if I can have a copy of a song called,"The Happening", chances are they will decline. That being the case I will probably write to Crockford about the lack of a good rarities album. Amongst other things I will tell him about the two recorded tracks that exist that are unheard, "The Happening" and "Morning". Also maybe Crock knows of unreleased tracks the were made after Boon left. I will also write to radio 1 asking them for a copy of the song, 'Morning', They will probably decline but I think Ill have more chance than I will with Polydor. I will probably send Crockford a list of prospective rartities which will include the different lyrics version of Running In The Family which is found on a live broadcast type transcription disc from 1985, also from Radio1. There is plenty of other stuff I can think of. I was wondering if anyone has copies of the 'Dr. Dude' remixes of Micro Kid that are listed on Lazlo's Discography. Do you have any additional information abouth these remixes Lazlo? There are so many mixes of Micro Kid, 1)Album version 2)7" version 3)Extended Version 4)Promo only 12" mix 5)Us mix (AKA special remix) 6)Dub Mix 7)US Edit 8)these Dr Dude mixes which I would love to hear. Anyway, there is no rest for me. I must get back to the thing i do worst, revising. See you all soon.............LOZ "A dream surreal, A new game to play, These thing I feel, In such an artificial way."
