David did get a couple of shots of the MK house and Joedaflos so maybe he'll get them digitised for the homepage. As regards the Wembley stadium/arena thing - I heard L42 did TEN nights at the arena. As the arena has a 20000 capacity that adds up to 200000 people - now you can get 100000 people in wembley stadium so in my book thats equivalent to two nights there. And it's generally acknowledged that even mega bands only play three nights there. So there. Most of Virgin's UK LPs had catalog numbers of the form "V-" so the CDs are "CDV-". I'm glad you enjoyed it it but the way you were carrying on it sounds like you were unable to contain yourself at the prospect of Mark on TV & made a bit of a mess... Don't worry though DAZ will clean up those tricky stains, whiter than white and at lower temperatures! Oh yes and it's still at the right price! My memory says that '42 were going to open the whole thing, and be the main band behind all the acts - but pulled out soon after. Or am I thinking about something else. DO they sound like _Influences_ ? early Level 42 ? late-shitty-poppy Level 42 ? Hootie and the Blowfish ????? Come on guys !!!!!!!! What'cha think ? Also, anyone that has the time think they can transcribe the interview pertion ? You well know it will be appreciated (Vince will make you famous with a mention on The Homepage). Do we have a confirmation that anyone taped it ? If so, maybe we (crazy yanks) can pool some $$$ together to get it tranfered to US-VHS. --jay Brigham & Women's Hospital jtracy @ bics.bwh.harvard.edu ------------------------------ Subject: CD-R mass buy. Important Information! From: "Matthew T. Blackmon" Date: Thu, 02 May 1996 01:50:01 -0600 (CST) Howdy all! Matthew here again. Below is the list of the people I have a record of getting in touch with me about the bulk CD purchase. vyshi @ ecl.psu.edu tucker_hass @ datamatic.com DanSHos @ aol.com rsmith @ zipmail.co.uk REHNJW @ dmdcwest.fmp.osd.mil Mikep3099 @ aol.com WJGreer @ aol.com K.E.Meacham @ pac.soton.ac.uk jotes @ cybermind.de (2) Eugene.Baylus @ Valley.Net shuf @ darkwing.uoregon.edu ajfigl @ husc.harvard.edu SKurtA @ aol.com WALTFRA @ frmail.rosemount.com mparker @ moose.co.uk z3a70 @ ttacs.ttu.edu jarnold @ farallon.com So, 17 people have written in (according to my records- I have lost a few people, but they haven't written me back yet!). John and I have been discussing this, and here's what we've come up with. . . In order to make life less hectic for everyone involved, I'll work as a holding company for the discs. And here's what we mean. Right now, we only have the first disc ready to go, however, we will be making three. In order to save money, we'll be ordering three discs for everyone all at one time. I'll then send the discs out to John (or whomever is burning your particular disc). John will burn 'em, and drop them into the mailers that I'll fix up (included in the cost). You'll then get the disc! I'll be holding the rest of the discs that you paid for, and when the next volunteer steps forward to burn discs, I'll then send a bunch to him, and so on, until everyone's discs are burned. Now, this is a bit more efficient, but it has one draw-back, it will increase the cost of the discs slightly. Even taking this into consideration, it will be cheaper than most people can get them themselves! I'll have a pretty accurate estimate of the costs by Friday, so I'll post it here. I'm going to speak to my distributor tomorrow, so anyone who wants to participate in this, please drop me a line soon (before 5PM CDT). And, if anyone wants me to send all three of their discs to them after the first is burned, no problem- just tell me! TCOY Matthew Blackmon z3a70 @ ttacs.ttu.edu
