Blackmon ------------------------------ Subject: Another New Reader... From: Paul Hammond Date: Sat, 27 Apr 1996 16:15:26 +0000 Hey! So, here I am, another new reader to the digest. Let's start with a little background. I have been a big fan of Level 42 for 9 years or so, since I bought the RITF album. I have all of the regular released albums on cassette and CD, but now I have seen the discography I shall have to start looking around for the stuff I never knew existed!! :-). I now live in London, UK, but for the first 23 years of my life I lived on the good old Isle Of Wight - the centre of it all! I play the drums and the bass .. biggest influences to date are (obviously) Mark King, Phil Gould, and Gary Husband, but also Stanley Clarke, Rocco 'Tower Of Power' Prestia, Dave Weckl, Vinnie Coluita, and loads more that would make this list way too long! I have played drums for 15 years, and bass for 5. Well, that's about all I have to say for now .. except that I can't wait for the MK tour and album........ Paul. ------------------------------ Subject: B sides titles From: WALTFRA @ frmail.rosemount.com Date: Sat, 27 Apr 1996 11:49:24 -0500 Some more suggestions: Thumbs and Fingers Thumbs up Almost hits Slapping and Pulling (picking?) Where did Time will Heal feature? (2) Three Words, which was the B side to the 1989 release Tracie, was written by Mark King, Mike Lindup and Wally Badarou. (3) The names of Green and Barfield are George M. Green, and Drew Barfield. They seemed to have most involvement with the band during the making of the Guaranteed album. Lolita, I've attached a Level 42 cover picture that I've drummed up. Any use? Steve. PS, I've another suggestion for the B side CD name - what about:- "Mirror Image - The B Sides, 1980 to 1995" ------------------------------------------------------ | / |_ / / | 04/27/96 19:50:39 | | \ | |- | | |- |--------------------------------| | / \ \ \/ \ | steve @ slamsoft.netkonect.co.uk | ------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Subject: Wah Wah Slap-n-Tickle From: John Edward Martin Shuford Date: Sat, 27 Apr 1996 12:01:51 -0700 (PDT) I appreciate Tucker's (?) contribution of names, and I must admit I liked some of them, but most of them sounded like derivations of porn titles. I'm surprised we didn't see "Deep Inside Level 42" or "Level 42 Through The Back Door" on that list. Course, with that wah wah guitar of Danny Blume's and Mark's slap-n-tickle, maybe they're bringing it on themselves! I'm going to pick up those other Leisure Process 12" today. By the way, on the record labels they are referred to only as "Leisure Process," not "Leisure Process International." As for "A Way You'll Never Be," the flipside is "Love Cascade," but because of the serial numbering on the album, it makes it appear that "A Way..." was the b-side. Strange! ------------------------------ Subject: DISCLAIMER: I'm 20 and don't accept propositions by email From: LittleHalo @ aol.com Date: Sat, 27 Apr 1996 20:14:35 -0400 Hello people, Wow! I write an innocent comment like "I DON'T want to have Loz's baby" and I get two propositions! Now I guess I know that guys really do want us to play hard to get. :-) Funny comments guys. I WISH I could attend pilgrimage 2 and get in a stupor with y'all but, alas, I can't just pick up and fly to England. Money matters, you understand. Bye, Angel ------------------------------ Subject: Hello! Favour needed From: "Matthew T. Blackmon" Date: Sun, 28 Apr 1996 00:25:11 -0600 (CST) Hi all! This is Matthew. I need to ask a fovour of all the people on the list for the b-sides CD. . . Due to an unfortunate key-stroke, I lost the entire contents of my host computer, including the list of people who had contacted me about CD-R's. If you had mailed me, please do so again. For everyone else! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< I'm organizing a quantity buy of CD-R's to help save everyone money. So- if you're interested in getting your CD-r through this, please drop me a line, and I'll try to keep everyone informed. I was thinking that it might do us well to purchase the CD-r's for all three discs at once. . . We might get a grand deal! Well, it's back to trying to peice my world back together. . . Cheers!
