Daniel James ------------------------------ Subject: Mark&Mike project From: laurence green Date: Thu, 11 Apr 1996 12:30:43 PDT Hi, I dont know who it was that said Mark and Mike were working on a project together, but thats not at all true. That is a really awful rumour that falsely gets everyones hopes up. The fact is that Mark and Mike have hardly spoke since the last concert in 1994. They are definatly not working together, Mark is extremely busy on his solo album and Mike has just moved house, he isnt even ready to start recording demos yet. It all seems very impressive what Audiophile have said about Mark and Mike, but Crockford assures me its not at all true, also their information is very vague, Crockford denies there are two albums coming out. When audiphile talk about this compilation maybe they mean 'Turn It On'. Who knows? Anyway the thing about Mark and Mike is definatly not true. See you soon.......................LOZ ------------------------------ Subject: RE: Something About You & Leaving Me Now From: WALTFRA @ frmail.rosemount.com Date: Thu, 11 Apr 1996 07:52:21 -0500 Subject: Something About You & Leaving Me Now From: rlmoore @ students.wisc.edu (rl moore) Date: Tue, 9 Apr 1996 08:20:10 +0700 I'm sure this question has been answered before but could someone answer it for me? What is the connection between the character Mark plays in both the "Something About You" and "Leaving Me Now" video(dressed in yellow with makeup and lipstick). Just wondering if their was an interesting story behind this and how this plays in to both videos. Also is the Sequence on the train in "Something About You" a take or tribute on the Beatles Hard Days Night, kind of, I know this may be stretching a little bit but I'm a film major and I try to pick out and look for interesting similarities in every film/video I see. -------- The story about Mark as 'clown' can be found at the "Fait Accompli" video. It goes something like this : After the last video before s.a.y, (hot water?) the guys wanted to do something without any instruments. It ended up in the s.a.y. video, where everybody plays a particular role, Mark as clown. S.a.y. became a hit in the usa. When l.m.n. was released, the US recordcompany asked to have the clown back, so again, mark appeard as clown. That's all. For the full story, see the video. As you say *the more the merrier*. This certainly a case of me getting my dates mixed up!! This is good because it gives us more time to get our plans together. Jump to http://gemm.com (thanks to Zak for that link) and look up Level 42. There's all sorts of resources there, and if you follow the right links, you'll find a place that allows you to put your own reviews on albums. Several people have already done this for some Level 42 stuff and you can take a look at that. You can also submit your "rating" of the album from 1-10 and that will be averaged in. Sorry, I don't remember exactly where the reviews are, and I don't have time to surf right now, but I do remember that it was fairly obvious. > The guys at AudioPhile Imports seem very cool and informed. This was about two weeks ago, so I know I still have some waiting to do. But this is the only place that even had it listed. If anyone else has any suggestions, I'd appreciate them as well. > > I am 2/3 done transcribing this article, it's long long long. It's good practice. Last night I was busy getting ready for my trip to California this weekend, so I wasn't able to finish the article. I hope to have it done sometime next week. I will then send it to Vince in html format, and to Marc Dupuis (and anyone else who wants it) in plain text format. Dan
