I think they can make copies to NTSC from PAL, at least it's been done the other way. One of them has probably over a hundred concerts on tape dating from the early 80's to now, the other has 16 3 hour compilation of videos and TV appearances of L42 from all over the world. One of the early videos has several live concerts on it, all from around 82-84. It's nice for us who wasn't in to L42 to watch them "live". On the video tapes there are a few videos not on the Level Best video, apart from the videos from Guaranteed (Both Guaranteed videos) and Forever Now, one is Are You Hearing (What I Hear). If you didn't know it, the Official Fan Club has closed down. Apparently Paul Crockford is trying to persuade RCA to release a video containing the singles from Guaranteed and Forever Now, so far to no avail. To get the latest news on this, there is now the Level 42 Fan Club Hotline 0891 299 742. The charge is 39p cheap rate and 49p all other times. I don't know if you can reach it from outside England? I get more bounced traffic from this list than I do *real* traffic. -- ::: Lazlo (lazlo @ rt66.com) ::: Visit http://rt66.com/lazlo/ for Discographies, Record ::: Collecting Resources, The Internet Music Wantlists, and more. ------------------------------ From: eric (Eric J. Hansen) Date: Wed, 11 Jan 95 20:06:20 EST Subject: Problems with bounce mode Attention bounce-mode subscribers: Yes, I realize that there has been alot of garbage as of late. This is in part due to the fact that alot of student accounts have their mbox's full (since they've probably been on vacation). Although 99.44% of the error messages are filtered out before the digest is sent out, _all_ messages are "bounced". I am trying to come up with a solution ("no", I do not use majordomo), but I am a busy guy and can't spend that much time writing new code to run the list. If the excess flow of garbage is becoming a problem, I am sorry. The best solution I can offer for the time being is to move any/all bounce-mode subscribers to digest mode. Please let me know if this is what you'd like to do (email to level42-request @ enterpise.bih.harvard.edu). O'Reilly And Associates' new book MANAGING INTERNET INFORMATION RESOURCES includes quite a bit of info on setting up and maintaining Majordomo . . . -- ::: Lazlo (lazlo @ rt66.com) ::: Visit http://rt66.com/lazlo/ for Discographies, Record ::: Collecting Resources, The Internet Music Wantlists, and more. ------------------------------ From: John Edward Martin Shuford Date: Thu, 12 Jan 1995 00:04:54 -0800 (PST) Subject: Level 42 Newsletter I had a friend forward the posting from 1/10/95, and I was wondering if there is any way I can get linked up with you so that I can receive the postings directly. I don't know if this is a news subscriber group or not; if it is I cannot subscribe here at UofOregon. Any help would be appreciated. By the way, I have been a fan since 1985, when a station I was working at in high school beat everyone else in town (then Seattle) to the punch in playing Hot Water and Something About You. I did a little promo work over here after Guaranteed with a few other people across the US. Basically got the runaround from the VP of marketing at RCA. He promised support, he sent promo cds, etc., then didn't have anything to say about Forever Now and the decision to not release it here. Anyway, I'm a serious levelhead as well as yourself. Thanks for any help. John Shuford (L42 fan club member 6042)
