Glad to see others dig Level. Welcome from the UK, glad you could make it. Just so you know (sorry to everyone else who's heard this a hundred times:), I live and work in London, but was born and raised in Portsmouth (UK), which coincidentally is Level42's 'home turf'. So I had the enviable pleasure of following the band (mostly live), since 82 (when I was 17) thu to 94', when they sadly called it a day. >But noone seems to be talking. We're all still recovering from the Christmas break, things'll pick up real soon....guys. > Well, here's some of the rumors I heard right before finding out about > this group...comment on if you can fill in more. Yup, and Level42 have split forever, their last gig being 14/10/94 at the Royal Albert Hall. > I think that's it, Did anyone translate the French at the end of Play > Me ? > As I said, I'm new here, sorry for repeating old stuff ( if I did ), now > lastly and most importantly, are there bootlegs available ? Hundreds, here in the UK, most of their gigs '83 onwards are available on cassette, or so I'm informed. But by far and the best bootleg is the CD 'The White Funky', it kicks ass _big time_. Anyway while I'm here, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE. (Sorry , it had to be done:) Hit 'em in the face, with a funky bass, for a happy smiling race David Crowson =%^) |"For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I just bought Sting's latest, _Fields of Gold_, which is his greatest hits, basically, with a few re-mastered tracks and two new songs. If you like Sting, it's worth buying. If not, it's at least worth listening to track 14, "This Cowboy Song". This tune sounds a lot like L42 in many ways, from the funky organ to the two saxophones playing harmonious highlights throughout the song. It's cool. Check it out. Rob
