The discussions about these tapes seem to be generating a fair amount of interest (Lolita - I'll have to check for the lip-sync bit when I get home - I think it's on tape 2), but I am loathe to distribute somebody else's email address without their blessing. That being the case, BobC, for the benefit of the assembled throngs could you give a brief dissertation on the origin/content/etc. of your tapes? ...Alex... I'm living here in San Francisco but I'm from Ireland. I've been here about a year so far. I'm a confirmed L42 fanatic and have been for eons, I've collected every album on CD, you name it I've got it, including Mark King's "Influences" and Mike Lindup's "Changes" - The Limited Edition Picture CD with the promo version of "Fallen Angel". You can get these through Audiophile Imports, based out of Maryland. Call either Mike Kermisch or Mark Tessier @ 410-628-7601. They also have the Japanese Releases of "Guaranteed", "Forever Now" with extra tracks on both. They also have the European release of "World Machine" which has two tracks you may not have heard over here. I've also seen our boys perform in my home town of Dublin twice, and both times I've been up there @ the front row watching Mr King strut his stuff... do mail me so's we can chew the cud over the exploits of Britain's best export... Julian Arnold ------------------------------ Subject: Level42 Digest V95 #3 From: PLFlanagan @ aol.com Date: Mon, 21 Aug 1995 16:35:34 -0400 Randall -- I have Wally's "Chief Inspector" EP, which is 5 remixes of some of his solo songs. It's worth getting, if you can find it. You can pick out a lot of his influences on the band, particularly the song "World Machine," which sounds very similar to some of his mid-80's solo stuff. ------------------------- Jamiroquai -- I finally got to hear Return of the Space Cowboy (my local public library got it -- go figure), and I think it's a pretty good album (I remember hearing some people say it wasn't a very good effort). I thought the title song and Manifest Destiny were pretty smooth songs. Though, the overall sound is a bit different than Planet Earth. ------------------------- Anyone got any Level 42 sheet music out there? I have the music book from "Running In The Family" as well as the music for Something About You and some bass line music for a few of their earlier tunes. I'm specifically interested in the complete books for World Machine, Heaven In My Hands, and the Level Best album. If you've got anything, let me know, we'll talk, we'll swap. TCOY, Pat Flanagan
