Jung wasn't on the vinyl of Changes, and so I regard it as an extra track, because I didn't have a CD player in 1990 :) ------------------------------ From: lolita @ InterServ.Com Date: Wed, 17 May 95 06:04:07 PDT Subject: Imports, Jamiroquai Hey everyone: Two quickies - 1) Someone asked for a place to obtain imports. I have found Audiophile to be very well stocked and a quick turnaround. Here is their address: Audiophile Imports Dept BP P.O. Box 4945 Lutherville, MD 21094-4945 (410)628-7601 2) Luigi (welcome to the digest!) wrote yesterday that no one mentions Jamiroquai. I love them. I first heard them about a year and a half ago in a record store, bought the disk, and proceeded to make almost all of my friends do the same. They have that seventies kind of thing going, and I love their lead singer's voice. I think they have a new album out right now, or it is soon to be released (I am going to pick that and the new Marcus album up early next week). Does anyone know if they have or will perform in the NYC area soon? ------------------------------ From: "Zaron Michael Frumin" Date: Wed, 17 May 1995 11:05:27 -0400 (EDT) Subject: Demographics results Dear All, I don't recall ever seeing the final demographic statistics on the composition of the members of this digest. I would love to see them . . . I am especially interested in the numbers of people from each geographic location, and any stats that would show just how large and diverse a cross-section of the population is represented by our 153-person sample! Example, how many of us are male, female, black, white, green, etc. How many are students--and what are we studying? How many of us are working--and what are our jobs? How many of us like any of today's artists--and which ones? ETC. Just a reminder: I (Zaron) am a marketing/telecommunications major at Michigan State University (a Big 10, Midwestern School). I am white, American, male. I am strongly dissatisfied with 90% of the music/artists that I hear on the very same radio stations which played Level 42 over the last decade, whereas, say, 7 years ago, I really enjoyed about 60% of the songs/artists I heard on these stations (Hope you'll pardon my perhaps over-dependence on RADIO, but that's always been my forum for being introduced to music). I am from NY, and have enjoyed level 42's music for 10 years now. I was lucky enough to see them live twice....once at the Paradise in Boston - during my Berklee years, and once out here on Long Island. I am wondering if anyone knows where I can get transcriptions of King's bass lines...? Any books available? I'm heading off to SanFrancisco and then up to Seattle and am wondering if any of you have any recommendations for clubs to catch some decent tunes? Never been out there so I haven't a clue. Any recommendations are much appreciated. Level 42 song of the day-My Father's Shoes. Hearing that rhythm guitar at the start and Lindup's "scating" at the end is worth hanging out in my basement til' 1AM with the stereo cranked. Is that song sweet or what?!
