I became a fan of level 42 back in 85 when I started taking bass guitar lessons And I bought the double live album (Physical ...) and couldn't believe how someone could play like that ( frenetic slap bass) for 2 hours - At least my hands get really tired after the 3rd song- & on top of that sing! Anyway that was in Spain...where level 42 used to visit and play regularly.. although it wasn't till Lessons in Love went # 1 on the singles chart that they became famous. But actually all there proper albums(not the early tapes) where released in Spain. In fact I used to have a spanish copy of the single"Weave your spell" I think there was a live version of "Love games" on the b-side & a beautifull cover art of the mystic african lady at night on the cover! Now I live in the States and we dont here anything of Level 42 , I was at this record store in Sunnyvale California when I was visitn my sister in San Francisco and they had this CD from Polydor released in 92 called ther Remixes or something... Because it was an import it was very expensive and I didn't buy it , also because of the track listing I got the impression that they were all old mixes - no new ones-. Can some nice person post the track listing of that Cd and for each track describe the mix. Forexample: This mix sounds exactly the same as the original album version... that other mix has a drum programming instead of the original drum track and its been speeded up.. I will be thankful. By the way that same store had the Cd single for "love in a peaceful world". I bought the Cd single for "All over U" and I loved the K-Klass remix of "Learn to say no"... although my CD player has problems playing Cd singles made by BMG u.k for some reason!-imagine that after paying $12 for a single!- O.K bye Dario Margeli ------------------------------ From: dcrowson @ amoco.com Date: Mon, 16 Jan 95 09:19:59 +0000 Subject: Re: Level 42 Digest, #277 Item Subject: Level 42 Digest, #277 > Subject: Level 42 Digest, #277 > From: Michael BROOKS > In reply to the long message yesterday.... > the drummer on the last tour was Gavin Stephenson....or was it > Richardson....don't have my programme at hand....... > Dave, can you confirm this?
