Mark on the other hand has 3 kids. But I don't know what they look like. I'm just as curious as you are. I have a new question for all of you. What is your favorite Level 42 video and why? ------------------------------ From: John Edward Martin Shuford Date: Mon, 1 May 1995 07:00:03 -0700 (PDT) Subject: Re: Level 42 Digest, #377 Jakko/Dominic: If you have the European release of Guaranteed, you'll notice that Jakko is the only guitarist who is pictured but not named anywhere on the insert. At least that's how it is on my disc (which was one of the first batch to come out). There is a picture page in the center featuring Allan Holdsworth and Dominic Miller...named, no less. Now, the really good part is that on the last inside page of the booklet there's a picture of Mark, Mike, Gary, and Allan depicted as "The Band." Well, not so much. At least it was for about four months. By the way, there is a picture of Mark hanging out in a hotel room with Dominic Miller in one of the fan club newsletters from 1993. I assume now that Mark was visiting him before one of his shows in the Sting troupe. BTW, Vince and all, Dominic Miller was an original member of L42. He showed up for their first rehearsal together, but with another guitar player in Boon already in the mix he didn't show up again. Children Say Vid: Fanclub newsletter (I can't recall which one) answers that question--no, she is not related to either Mark or Mike. Thanks for trying, and keep playing! :) For Anyone Interested: Allan Holdsworth US Tour dates have been announced. I don't think he's playing with Gary Husband this time around. I believe Chad Wackerman is appearing with him. There was that rumor of a big rift between the two of them (Gary and Allan), but the last I heard from the Atavachron Digest no one substantiated it. Anyway, I believe that Gary is out on the road with--get this--Billy Cobham, and playing some keys to boot! Finally, Allan is touring from west to east, apparently skipping the midwest for now, and the tour will run from June to September. Check your local info or write the Atavachron Digest for more info. I found this in the Holdsworth Digest today. It kinda made me want to reply "Yeah, well L42 was better off without Allan and Gary too!" * * * I have also seen Allan when he was, musically, a fish out of water namely the lead guitarist for Level 42 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London late 1990. The combination of Mark King and his ego strutting on stage combined with a terrible sound mix which made Allan's guitar sound like an eggbeater was, I'm sure painful to Allan (You could see it on stage almost like "Is the money worth it?) Is that where he and Gary Husband met? marksg @ ix.netcom.com * * * So that's it, kids. Flame him if you want. And remember: I'm just the messenger! It sure feels hard to typ the word unsubscribe later on, because I enjoyed the digest very much, but there's no other way, because I got another job. So this account will be closed on the 5th of may and my new employer doesn't have the right equipment to get intouch with you guys (and of course girls)again. The only thing left for me to do is to get a home-account. But for now: KEEP THE LEVEL(42) HIGH. You will have it within a week of ordering, and probably only pay $1.50 for shipping. Granted, it doesn't have the two bonus tracks from the Japanese release, but it's also not $52, as CDEurope has it listed out of Holland. However, CDEurope is listing 79 L42 titles, most of them duplicates. They are, however, listing CDVs for Something About You and Heaven In My Hands (though I wouldn't waste my time trying to get them, because there's no way they will find them), as well as a laserdisc version of Family of Five. Course, if you have Level Best, Family of Five is a mere redundancy.
