Dave, can you confirm this? By the way.... To everyone out there, I have tape copies of shows from Wembley 12.01.89, Hammersmith December '85, Crystal Palace 04.08.91 and a couple of other bits and bobs. Anyone want copies???? I've done a copy of these for Dave Crowson and I was wondering if other people want copies? If there's enough demand, I'll post my address on here and people can send me tapes. Also, I have copies of the programmes from the Staring at the Sun tour (88-89) and the final tour. Any offers?? ------------------------------ From: "M. McDonnell External" Date: Fri, 13 Jan 1995 15:15:55 -0400 (AST) Subject: L42 Newsgoup still? Hey there everyone, I remember Elson saying that there is a Level 42 newsgroup on his news server. Unfortunately, that group is not carried by our university server, so I can't access it unless I point my newsreader to another server. The only other news server I know, metro.atlanta.com, doesn't carry it. Probably, the alt.music.level-42 newsgroup was created without going through the normal channels (i.e. discussion, voting)--although since "alt" is not in the "Big 7" of newsgroup hierarchies, I understand that the rules are a little less strict. In any case, the point of my big digression is that probably only a few newsservers carry the L42 group (if it still exists). Personally, if I were in charge of newsgroup creation, I would have to say that a L42 newsgroup might be unnecessary, given the amazing job that this mailing list is doing. So--back to my main point--does the group still exist, is there any message traffic on it, is it worth reading, and does anybody know a server that carries it that I can point to? Thanks. [Boy, I need to go home...I cna't make heads or tails of this message, and *I* wrote it...] Regards, Jody McDonnell
