Email: garethh @ inmos.co.uk or garethh @ inmos.com Hi, Last weekend i was at Pembrey Motor racing circiut in S.Wales and was quietly walking round the paddock area when a camper came into the paddock towing a Citron 2CV, on the side of the 2CV was Level 42 racing, the driver being Mike Lindup. He was down testing the car for the day, for a race on the Sunday. His 'team' all had level 42 racing jackets which did look quite good. He said that he loved racing his 2CV and had done a 24 hour marathon in Ireland a while back, he had also been to Pembrey a few times this year, because the circiut is good for the 2CV's (very flat). I did'nt see him race, I think he did go out for a few laps , but i was elsewhere at the time . Level 42 is probably my favorite group (actually it is, damn it!) and I first got turned on to them listening to Running in the Family several years back (when it first got released). I'm a part of the fan club (and barely flinched when I ordered the bank draft from the bank, they are quite expensive, about 40$ US since there's a 15$ fee just to get one). What I'm looking for basically is their new album and the Early Tapes (which I've heard was only available thru German/Japanese import) and hopefully one of you fellow Level 42 fans can help me out here... Thanks to Elson for introducing me to the list! Regards, Augustin P.S. My favorite 2 albums are World Machine (of course) and True Colours (Floating Life is just one of the best songs IMO) ------------------------------------------------------------------ Augustin Chan (auchan @ ucsd.edu) 'it's difficult to live life in a cage with no bars, basically because everyone thinks it's an invitation to just come in and sit down and eat my pop tarts.' -spondee ------------------------------ From: lazlo @ carina.unm.edu (Lazlo Nibble) Date: Tue, 24 May 1994 18:31:13 -0600 (MDT) Subject: Re: FAQ A couple of comments on the guest spots section -- First, where did the info about Mark King appearing on "The Politics Of Dancing" come from? He's not credited. Second, two very important appearances weren't listed in the mini-discog: [M: New York * London * Paris * Munich] LP: 1979 US (Sire SRK 6084) [Wally Badarou: synth/keyboards] [Gary Barnacle: saxes/flute] [Phil Gould: drums] [M: The Official Secrets Act] LP: 1980 US (Sire SRK 6099) [Wally Badarou: synth] [Gary Barnacle: sax] [Phil Gould: drums] [Mark King: drums/bass/guitars (bass on "Maniac" only)] -- Lazlo (lazlo @ xmission.com) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finger for info on mailing lists (klf/orb/ztt/exotic-vinyl) and discographies
