For those of you who may have missed my few earlier posts this week, I made a comment about how some of L42's songs have definite similarities in rhythms, chord progressions, etc. Now, I was trying to find a song which had a similar chord progression to Lasso the Moon, and last night I remembered what it is -- Set Me Up. The chorus to Lasso the Moon has the EXACT same progression as the bridge of Set Me Up: B-min, C-maj, D-maj, E-min. Also, note that these are both distinctly Mike Lindup tunes. Not to criticize Mike, though, 'cos I love these songs, they're both excellent. I just thought it was more than coincidental that two songs, both on the same album, have this similarity. Perhaps Mike just found a progression that he liked so well, he decided to use it twice. :) See ya! No ill will intended at all. Anyway, Heart On The Line is a B-side from the Love In A Peaceful World single. That song, along with The Bends, are both on the CD single. The Bends is something you should hear. A real kind of slow groove with a couple of verses sung by Wally Badarou. It may make my top 10 of all time just because it's so different. Cool guitar work from Danny Blume at the end, as well. Let me know if you want a copy. Bob C. ------------------------------ From: "Robert S. I wrote to Adam Curry over the weekend and asked his opinion on how we might get to see the band in the states, even if just one time. This is his response. What does everyone think? Rob ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Rob, I too have been a Level 42 fan ever since Love Games. I have met Mark King several times, but haven't spoken to him in at least 7 years. I suggest that you get all the people on the list to write a petition for the band to play at least one more time in the states. I must warn you that Mark is definately a guy who sticks to what he believes in and just might not want to do it , period. Good luck and please keep me up to speed on the developments, if any.
