Could you post a listing of the tracks they played and a review of the concert, I have no doubt that the gig will be superb as the last one I went to in `91 at Bradford was amazing but I would kinda like to know what to expect this time round (e.g. Who was drumming? Did they jazz-up the tracks a little? Who were the other musicians? etc.) C-Ya Paul. My Sister and me, we laughed we cried, but mostly we cried.Last night (Thurs), I drove down to my home town, Portsmouth, to see the band that I'd been watching there (and elsewhere) since I was 16 (I'm 28 now). This was Level 42's first Gig of the UK half(the 2nd half) of their world tour. Mark started the set with a lively mix of 3 tunes from old and new (Hot Water being the only one I can recall for now). He played a bass that had red LED's where the dots usually are on the fingerboard, so that in the dark that was all you could see. It was brilliant. They then proceeded to play a mix of old and new including Kansas City Milkman, Mr Pink, Running in the Family, World Machine , One in a Million, Model friend and a many others (I was too emotional to remember:) finishing the set with Chinese Way. There was one encore only of Staring at the Sun. This was probably the _best_ performance of theirs I've _ever_ seen , and I seen plenty thank you. But after the 1st medley, after being friendly and chatty with the crowd, and saying how they were glad to kick the tour off in Pompey (that's Portsmouth , to you outsiders;-), because it's their home town, they totally shocked the audience by announcing that they'd never play there again, or anywhere after this tour.Yup, Level 42 will be now more after the 14th October 1994. (Ok, maybe not shocked, as the publicity posters at the gig said the same) Still, It was like having my soul ripped out after a wonderful 12 years. Mixed emotions would be an understatement. So we cried. I'm still crying Here are the places that you have a last chance of seeing them;ever. 30/09 Bristol Colston Hall 1/10 Ipswich Regent Theatre 2/10 Nottingham Royal Concert Hall 4/10 Leeds T+C 5/10 glasgow Royal Concert Hall 7/10 Manchester Apollo 8/10 Liverpool Royal Court 9/10 Wolverhampton Civic Hall 10/10 Cardiff St.David's Hall 12/10 Cambridge Corn Exchange 13/10 Brighton Dome 14/10 London Royal Albert Hall Yours without a soul......
