Yo Funkateers! A couple of days ago Mike Lindup and Mark King appeared live in a radio show on the popular SWF-3 station to do a couple of minutes acoustic jamming (brillant!!) and to promote the new single... They were extremely relaxed and it was real fun to hear the chat and play... Dirk P.S. Anybody know the song "lying still" from the World Machine CD?? -- MicroDot 1.0 ------------------------------ From: "Robert S. Let's just say, it's all I've done for the last 24 hours. I got it last night from the UPS guy, and have just listened to it over and over since then. I am particularly impressed with "Love in a Peaceful World", "Romance", and "One in a Million" but they are all awesome cuts. Does anyone out there besides me think that several of the songs have a distinct Dooby-Brothers edge to them, particularly in the harmonies? Just curious. I was told by someone on the list (I think it was Bob) that the sound of this album is a return to much of their earlier work. With the inclusion of Phil Gould, I'd say yes, but mostly, I'd say no. Forever Now is a distinct departure from anything I've heard from the band up 'til now -- and that's good. In one way I'd agree with Boon, that the band took too much of a turn toward pop over the last few albums. But this album goes right at the heart of jazz -- syncopation, color chords, and some improv (particularly from Mark). Excellent stuff!! Just wanted to share my thoughts on this. Rob Kadel
