He joined between the Hammersmith Odeon shows in Dec 1990 and the start of the UK tour in October 1991. He does not appear on the album musically, only on the cover. (So far, not long 'til the next one's due :-) > By the way, who is the fourth guy on the cover of _Guaranteed_? (aside from > King, Lindup & Husband) That's Jacko Jaksyk (or something like that) who plays guitar. I think he and Holdsworth shared guitar duties on the album, but he's definitely the main guitar player now - he did the Guaranteed tour for a start. --Chris ------------------------------ From: etrinida @ scf.usc.edu (Elson R. (aside from > King, Lindup & Husband) No, it's not a real bad picture of Holdsworth, ans Holdsworth's picture is inside the CD booklet, and he doesn't look ANYTHING like the guy on the cover... The mystery man is a guy by the name of Jakko Jakzyck, who is, at least as of late 1991, is the latest guitarist of Level 42 (L42 seems to have a problem with gruitarists not unlike Spinal Tap has with drummers, no?). Jakzyck didn't even play a note on the album, but he did tour with the band after the album was released. He is featured on the Japanese import video "Guaranteed Live" and he does a GREAT job emulating not only Boon's and the late Alan Murphy's guitar parts, but Holdsworth's as well! He plays a Steinberger guitar, much like Holdsworth, so you can see why. He also sings background vocals along with Lindup and Annie McCaig. I do not know if Jakzyck is playing on the new albums or is still with the band. Jakzyck is well known in the British pop music circles as a session guitarist, playing for the likes of Swing Out Sister and others. I never heard him talk, but I keep thinking this guy is an American. Hi all, My name is Nick May from South Australia and have been admirer of Level 42's music for some time. I was wondering if someone would post a listing of the recording history of Level 42 as their recordings are quite hard to obtain here in Australia. I have a copy of "Running In The Family" as well as a CD copy of one of their earlier recordings (the name of it escapes me at the moment!). Thanks in advance. -- Nick May Business Systems Administrator AWA Defence Industries Pty Ltd :----------------------------------------------------------------------------: : Mail : P.O.
