Hansen) Date: Thu, 16 Sep 93 10:58:06 EDT Subject: Level 42 on Saturday Night Live!!! Hi, folks! I just pulled the following USENET message excerpt from the group . It's basically a schedule for NBC's "Saturday Night Live" show rerun festival which will appear in the U.S. on cable TV. I was **completely** unaware that Level 42 had ever played as the musical guest for SNL, but I guess they did! If anyone has this channel, tune in on 9/25/93 at 4AM. I am assuming that this is EST in the U.S., but you might want to email the author just in case. I've included the whole schedule for that day (the 25th), but I will email out individual copies of the whole schedule if there is interest... there are actually quite alot of musicians which I was surprised to find on SNL!! Starting this coming weekend, Comedy Central will a week-long marathon of some 150 episodes of Saturday Night Live. This schedule of performances is transcribed from the "Funny Pages", Comedy Central's publicly distributed newsletter. Comedy Central is an American (and soon Canadian?) cable TV service. Comedy Central's versions of "SNL" are one-hour condensations of the original, so often, a favorite skit or two may be missing. Usually, however, all the musical performers' numbers make the cut. Comedy Central does not currently have the rights to the first five years of Saturday Night Live shows, which, unfortunately, means that many classic performances are still not available reliably. The first listing is sorted by musical guest, alphabetically. The second listing is the *same* set of shows, but sorted by show date. I am not associated with Comedy Central in any way, shape, or form. Oh, yeah - I'm *sure* the phrase "Comedy Central" is a registered trademark or something, so if you try and make money advertising access to this information, which Comedy Central offers for free, I bet you'll be in trouble. To get on the Comedy Central Snail-mail mailing list, and receive this listing (and more) monthly, call (212) 767 - 8600 during East Coast business hours. ***********************NOTE**********NOTE***************NOTE************ Note what 'midnight' means in this schedule. Note what day the 'wee hours' come under. For example: A listing for "Midnight", or "1 AM", on a Tuesday, is NOT Teusday night into Wednesday morning. It is Monday night into Tuesday morning. A day's shows COMMENCE at MIDNIGHT. The last show of a 'day' is 11 PM. The show after an 11 PM Wednesday show, is listed as Midnight on the NEXT DAY, Thursday. If there is any confusion, scroll down to the stuff sorted on time, rather than alphabetical order. It should resolve any lingering questions. ***********************NOTE**********NOTE***************NOTE************ Musical Guests (and hosts) for Saturday Night Live (Sorted by musical guest) 'The trivia marathon' Level 42 (Jimmy Breslin) 9/25/93 4 AM [all shows for the same day...] 9/25/93 Julee Cruise (Andrew Dice Clay) Midnight David Gilmour, Buster Poindexter (Angie Dickinson) 1 AM James Taylor (Robin Williams) 2 AM Bryan Ferry (Danny DeVito) 3 AM Level 42 (Jimmy Breslin) 4 AM The B-52's (Alec Baldwin) 5 AM Edie Brickell (Matthew Modine) 6 AM Suzanne Vega (Mark Harmon) 7 AM Sade (Tom Hanks) 8 AM Billy Ocean (Roy Scheider) 9 AM The Fixx (Jamie Lee Curtis) 10 AM Pearl Jam (Sharon Stone) 11 AM John Hiatt (Tony Danza) Noon Run-DMC (Malcolm Jamal Warner) 1 PM Duran Duran (Robert Guillaume) 2 PM Tracy Chapman (Andie MacDowell) 3 PM The Motels (Michael Palin) 4 PM Garth Brooks (John Goodman) 5 PM Greg Kihn (Howard Cosell) 6 PM Little Feat (Melanie Griffith) 7 PM Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (Kirstie Alley) 8 PM Chris Isaak (Delta Burke) 9 PM
