Well, here is a little bio of how I got into Level 42 and what I do, what discs of theirs I own, etc. etc. etc.. I am a 26 year old grad student at the university of Buffalo. I've been here for all of my higher education, anyway, an old roomate bought World Machine when the song 'Something About You' was at its peak popularity. I liked the song, but the rest of the album was GREAT. I couldn't believe what I was missing. Then the came to UB as a part of one of the annual music festivals and I MISSED THEM. I will never forgive myself for not going to that concert. Speaking of Level 42 concerts, do they still tour? Is there any way that I am going to get to see them LIVE? That would be soooooo cool. So on disc I have: Level 42 Staring at the Sun (?) World Machine Running in the Family (Platinum UK edition :-) Level Best Guaranteed But, as if you didn't already know, the live discs Physical Presence (I, II, or best of) are not made anymore. A Pursuit of Accidents, True Colours, The Early Tapes, and everything else (if I have left anything else out) are not made anymore and are currently unavailable. That kills me. I have heard True Colours (our music listening room on campus has it but won't let you record them) but haven't even heard the others. I WANT these discs! Other obligitory stuff, the other musical groups I listen to avidly are: RUSH, Yes, Fourplay (a jazz fusion group with Lee Ritneour, Nathan East, Bob James, and some guy I can't think of now), Donald Fagen (and Steely Dan), Iron Maiden, Metallica, Gamalon (Buffalo based jazz fusion), and did I mention Rush yet???? Maybe this is because I am a bass player wannabe. Meaning that I don't play bass, YET. Oh yeah, does anyone happen to have any 'footwear' of Level 42 concerts. I could possibly trade some good Rush 'footwear' for them...... Yes! It DOES sound "Police-ish"! I dunno if Miller's playing made it so. In fact, I couldn't tell which guitar parts were Miller's or which were Allan Holdsworth's. I would guess the guitars on "Guaranteed" and "Set Me Up" are Holdsworth's. Speaking of Level 42 songs sounding like other bands, Doesn't "Man" from "Staring at the Sun" sound like they've been listening to Rush? Okay, a funky Rush, without Geddy Lee's whiny vocals... Elson
